Hastings Observer (06/03/09): Team Gym Southern Tournament
The 1066 Gymnastics Academy's junior girls squad attended the 2009 Team Gym Southern Tournament.
Selena Georgiou-Paton, Jasmine Clarke, Ellie Whiting, Laura Whiting, Keri Childs, Charlotte Whittaker and Gemma Morgan put on their best floor routine to date to come away with a score of 6.300.
Their trampette rotation also went smoothly and they enjoyed the highest score of 6.700 in their group, but an unfortunate error on tumble meant they had to settle for 5.230 which placed them fifth with 18.230.
The girls gained a lot of experience competing in the large event alongside teams from all over the country.
They also watched the second day of competition which featured the national level teams competing for a spot at the British Championships.
The girls are now preparing for the club's imminent move into its new state-of-the-art training facility.
