Bexhill & Hastings Observers (05/02/10): Trampoliner Hopes To Bounce To National Victory
A talented trampoliner is hoping to bounce to victory at a national event after coming through two qualifying rounds. Laura Whiting will represent the 1066 Gymnastics Academy and Claverham Community College at the national finals in Bristol next month.
Her journey to the south west began with a second place finish in her age category in the South East Regional Schools' Trampolining Competition at the end of last year.
Laura then finished third in the Southern England round in London shortly after Christmas having once again produced strong routines.
Her 1066 clubmates Hayley Burton, Imogen Jarrett, Shannon Tribe, Saskia Morgan, Jamie-Leigh Barrell and her own younger sister, Lily, also competed in the initial round.
Each of the girls proudly represented their school and enjoyed their first trampolining competition.
1066 coach Helen Berry encouraged the youngsters to compete and gladly accompanied them on the day. She was very pleased with each of their performances.
