COMMUNITY
The 1066 GLA We are a group of young people aged between twelve and seventeen years. We are all members of 1066 Gymnastics. Many of us are gymnasts and some of us help out with classes with younger club members. We are working towards becomming a recognised Gymnastics England Leadership Academy. Part of that involves achieving the Gymnastics England Helper's Award. This involves various learning activities, courses and resource packs. Along the way we are organising social activities to raise a little money to help us with the costs of our resource packs. So far we have organised two breakfast club mornings at the club where we treated gymnasts to movies, games and a healthy breakfast. We also made a bid for the East Sussex Youth Bank grant and successfully obtained a grant to purchase some additional large blocks for the club. These will move into the 1066 Freestyle Gymnastics gym when it opens in 2011. We are always keen for new ideas for social events for club members. If you would like to get involved, get in touch! You'll spot some of our group at the club every day and you can also ask about the 1066 GLA at reception. We have a notice board at the bottom of the stairs just as you come inside the club's front door. This is where we post our latest information so watch out for our next event and get involved!
